Analysis of two-dimensional variables

A two-dimensional variable is a variable in which each individual is defined by a pair of characters, (X, Y). These two characters are in turn statistical variables in which there is a relationship between them, one of the two variables is the independent variable and the other dependent variable.

Regression

In statistics, regression analysis is a statistical process for estimating relationships between variables. It includes many techniques for the modeling and analysis of multiple variables, when the focus is on the relationship between a dependent variable and one or more independent variables.

Regression analysis

Fit a line to a straight line in this dot plot disorder, X is called the independent or regressive or predictive variable, E and is the dependent or response variable.

The regression or prediction line has the form Y = a + bz.

The regression line or the least squares line

The least squares method is used to calculate the linear regression line that minimizes the residuals, that is, the differences between the actual values and those estimated by the line. Its foundation and the way to calculate the regression coefficients with this method is reviewed.

ANOVA or analysis of variance

In statistics, the analysis of variance is a collection of statistical models and their associated procedures, in which the variance is divided into certain components due to different explanatory variables.

Personal conclusions

In conclusion, today's class learned about the study of statistical regressions to know the relationships between two or more variables, anova, regression, among others.
